3 Cheeky Chix

Class/Scrap Tips from the Chix
*Any Cheeky Chix kit with people can be personalized for a variety of skin tones and hair color.  If we don’t have it with us, we’ll ship it to you for free!

*Layout your pages before gluing to determine correct placement of the page elements.

*Group digital pictures in a folder that you would like to use together on a layout.  Label with month and year to find photos easily.

Making the most out of your crop time
*Cheeky Chix kits make it easy to pack for your next crop.  Gather your pictures and slide them in the package with the kit.  All embellishments, cardstock, etc. needed is in the kit….no more hauling loads of bags!

*When selecting pictures to upload, look at your Cheeky Chix page kits, select the pictures you need for that layout (crop pictures to change vertical or horizontal photos prior to upload), and name the file you’re uploading your layout name.  If you use Shutterfly to print, the name of the layout will be printed on the back of the photo making sorting very quick and easy!  You will also save printing costs by only printing pictures you’ll use on your layouts!

*A tool tote is a valuable time saver.  Gather commonly used tools together (paper trimmer, ruler, black and brown ink pads, adhesive, stapler, hole punch, setting tool, etc.) and keep in one place.  This saves you time digging through bags looking for tools.

Watercolor Pencils and Waterbrushes

*Watercolor pencils are an easy and inexpensive way to add dimension and details to your layout.

*They can be sharpened and erased like a regular pencil.

*Different amounts of shading can be used to make colors appear lighter or darker.

*They are easy to use….color the image, then use water brush to “paint” the image.  *You can also use the water brush directly on the watercolor pencil and then color the image.

*Use to shade images, add facial features, make waves in water, etc.

Mudd Puddles
*Mudd Puddles is a great way to add texture to your scrapbooks and cards.

*It will dry to the touch in about 1 hour and will totally dry overnight.

*It's flexible after it dries and will not crumble or fall off your project.

*It's acid free and safe for your scrapbooks.

*Mudd Puddles is best applied with a spatula.

*Keep a tub of water nearby to put spatula in when not in use.

*If Mudd Puddles seem a little dry when opening the container, add a spatula full of water and stir.

*To help smooth Mudd Puddles on your project, dip spatula in water and use back side of spatula to spread product and smooth.

*You can add acrylic paint to change the color or add glitter to make it sparkle.

*Use Mudd Puddles on chipboard shapes or letters or on shapes cut from cardstock.

*Mudd Puddles can be used to create the texture of grass, sand, water or to just add texture to any shape.

*Check www.muddpuddles.net for ideas.

Pop Dots
*Pop dots are a great way to add dimension to your layouts.  After popping all the dots from the packaging, use scissors to trim the leftover foam into pieces to use as “dots” as you need it.

Pens/Markers
*Pens or markers can be used to add details to die cuts or layouts.  Use a pen to add faux stitching to your layout or letters in your title.  Add facial features on a “person” and shade blush on the cheeks with the watercolor pencils.  Doodle swirls around photo corners or on your layout for a one of a kind look!

*The Chix love the American Crafts Ultimate Gel Pen—pastel for a white pen that really shows up on dark cardstock!

*Journal in a color that matches your layout using a fine tip marker.
